Went shooting Saturday
Took my youngest son shooting Saturday afternoon.
I took a couple boxes of 147 grain lead bullet reloads that my Browning BDM chokes on every 4 or 5 rounds (failure to feed). My new XDm 5.25 eats'em like candy! Slow fire, rapid fire, doesn't matter, one after the other till the magazine goes empty. Color me tickled pink. I tried'em shorterf, longer, and in between in the BDM but it didn't like them an any form.
Shot my son's Beretta 90-Two (.40 S&W). It shoots pretty good with his 140 grain lead bullet reloads (Missour Bullet Company). I won't be buying one, but it shoots pretty good groups.
I also dug out my very first AR15 build (about 4 years ago??). Its a 24" bull barrel vARmint rifle. I'm partial to light bullets (45 grain) for ground hogs and I took a long some reloads I'd loaded just over 30 years ago for my M700 Remington varmint special. Man, did those shoot some good groups. My son had his Savage bolt action varmint rifle and his pet loads and he shot a 5 shot group and dared me to do better (you know how the kids are...see if you can beat that old man). That vARmint rifle and those old reloads put a hurt on him and his new Savage. I'm gonna have to pull one of those loads apart to see if I used IMR4198 or if they were some of a batch of loads I was trying H335 in. Either way, I'll have to load up some more as the 1 turn in 10" barrel on that vARmint rifle likes those 30 plus year old reloads.
Oh, those rounds have been stored in my attic for over 26 years (hotter than the dickens in the summer and freezing cold in the winter) and they still shoot great.
Also got the BUIS sighted in on my AR carbine. Been needing to do that but just hadn't got around to it. I put the SUIT back on the carbine and shot it a few times to "seat" the SUIT back in its mount.
Good day/afternoon. I need to do that way more often that I have been.
