Sellier & Bellot 9mm. Need confirmation I was BS'ed

I work with a guy, who says this ammo will leave brass "shavings" in my gun and damage it.

I don't believe him. He is a glock fanboy who thinks hes a genius. To this guy XD's are pieces of crap, (well so is anything that isn't a cheap piece of plastic that claims to be perfect lol) and any ammo that isn't Bitter Root Valley, (BVAC) isn't worth shooting. He used to work in the town BVAC is based out of so obviously this is why he shoots it. Yeah he's a real tool. Only DPMS AR-15's are worth buying because thats what he has. I could really go on all day about the lies he tells to manipulate my PREFERENCES!

Sorry I was off topic. Well I just got 1000 rounds of the beautiful S&B 115 grain FMJ's, but I have not shot them through my XDM yet, but I did give a box to a different coworker. I shot 17 through his Glock17 Gen4 (great gun) and did notice there were specs of brass on his follower, as well as in the chamber. Not much but it made me doubt my skepticism of aforementioned TOOL.

If you are still following my wall of text tangent, and anyone knows if there is any basis to TOOLS' claims please let me know. I highly doubt it, but I would like someone that actually knows what they're talking about to ease my mind.

Wouldn't want brass coated bullets to damage my crappy XDM would I?
After all it isn't a Glock.

My experience? The first 2,000 rounds I put through my XD9 were S&B 115 FMJ, no problems at all. They are actually cleaner than the Federal Champion I have been running through it lately. Brass is a MUCH softer metal than what is in your gun. The brass will not hurt anything.

My personal opinion? Don't talk guns with this guy lol

Shoot that ammo and enjoy.

Ive been shootinging the Federal and it is some NASTY stuff, and it looks like someone beat on the bullets with a hammer. Wont be shooting that crap anymore lol!

And yeah thats what I said, Brass is SOFT! Score one for the amatuer!

Gawd he even thinks keeping mags loaded will destroy your springs too, even though the properties of steel at low temps disproves that. I printed him out a PUBLISHED article on why thats bullcrap, and he said because it was on the internet it couldn't be true! Its only the combined knowledge of the entirety of human history! The info is so biased you can't trust him with anything.
Hell the XD(M) MATCH GRADE barrel isn't even match grade because springfields' stamp is on it. LMAO... told you I could go on

Well federal shoots fine, but the quality is lacking. I found the S&B for 9 dollars more per thousand! After shipping it was 233$ BulkAmmo.com

The test bullet casing that came with my xdsc was a s&b. Doesn't mean anything other than it's what they used.

Those casings get slammed around quite a bit in all pistols and it's not uncommon for a bit of brass to be nicked off here and there... extractor, ejector, and even being chambered. The tiny bits add up, but unless you don't blow out the striker channel or clean it once in a while, you won't have a problem with that stuff.

S&B is good ammo. I haven't had any problems and have shot a lot of .380, 9mm, and .45.
