I have a newby XD question for you guys. I have done a couple of forum searches but couldn't find the answer.
Are lead bullets safe to shoot in XD pistols? Specifically moly coated XD bullets like the ones offered by www.bearcreeksupply.com or www.precisionbullets.com? I wasn't sure if XD pistols were like glocks and had polygonal rifling which isn't good with lead bullets. Thanks! dusty

I shoot both lead and moly coated bullets in my XD45's. The lead bullets are by Ruckers, a local outfit, and the moly are from Precision, also a Texas company. I've actually found that Ruckers' 230 gr. are slightly more accurate, but I prefer the Precison Bullets because they don't smoke up an indoor range. Frankly, if all of my shooting was outside, I'd go with the Ruckers.
In any case, the XD handles the lead just fine. God bless. Hugh |
