xd .45acp ammo?

I was wondering what you guys are finding out to be the best ammo for this gun? Seems to handle everything it has been presented. Also what are some of the cheaper routes to go as far as just shooting for fun? Thanks for any help.

Buy the Winchester White Box (WWB) 100rd value pak at Walmart. Pretty good ammo. Especially for the money. Perfect practice/general range ammo. The old 45ACP was one of my favorite calibers to reload. Many loads to experiment with. For the long term reloading is something you should seriously consider. Not for the cost saving alone. But you can develop a load for your specific gun. You won't find better ammo off the shelf. Have fun. Be Safe!

S&B is the cheapest ammo I have found so far, but I only buy FMJ its not to dirty and I have never had a problem with it some have said they experience a hard primer from time to time.

Best value Remington Jacketed and WWB at Walmart.

Best Grouping: Federal Primium Hydrashock 165 Gr. 3 rounds at 25 yards with Vice/Bench 2.75 inches. BTW: I have not been able to recreate. Most grouping with good ammo are between 2.75 and 3.8 at 25 yard with bench support.

I've shot WWB, CCI Blazer Aluminum and CCI Blazer Brass. All feed and shoot fine.

Wallyworld WWB is probably about the cheapest way to go. It works fine in my XD45.

I usually use WWB or Remington UMC. I can get a 250 ct box of UMC for $60 at Bass Pro. Not exactly the cheapest but the 100 pack WWB can be hard to find at times.
