As was posted by Cuda, that is a fabulous list of premium self-defense rounds. After reading that, I relegated my Hornady TAP CQ to the range. Not sure how they compare to the Craptical Defects, but I bought them because they (Hornady) supposedly did very well in the XD's. If anyone (Cuda, Agalindo) has done some testing and some legitimate experience using the TAP line, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Anyway, back on topic. I have bought a box of Winchester 127 +p+, along with the Federal HST 124 +p. They worked well through my XD9, and I was pretty accurate with them as well. No FTF or FTE. I plan on buying another box of each to replenish what I used. Those boxes will be stored for future use, if necessary.

TAP is just the XTP in a different box and a cooler name...the XTP is a good round, but there are better ones out there.
I'd consider it on par with rounds like HydraShok.

So, I should still stick with Federal HST and Ranger T then. Sounds good. I'll use up the Hornady's in both my XD9, and my LC9. Even though I was kinda hoping they'd be fine in the LC9, LOL. But if they are on par with the Hydra-Shok and the Critical Defense, then I will just waste em on some paper

The XTP's or HydraShoks were some fo the best rounds available for quite some time; iirc, the XTP was the first JHP to pass FBI protocols of 12+" penetration at the time. If I didn't have access to anything better, I'd have no qualms about using either one.
Either are light years better than Critical Defects.

Ah, ok. Thanks Cuda. Like I said, I'll punch some paper with them. And just stock up on the HST and Ranger T. Might relegate the HST 124 +p to the LC9 and move up to the HST 147 in my XD9. I dunno. They are such good rounds, LOL

I ended up picking up some WWB 147 JHP. $20 for 50 and some to put down range to get a feel for it.
Thanks to all for those who contributed.

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” (Quoting Cesare Beccaria)
The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.

Lets see. I have 3 mags for my xdm 9mm 3.8, one is filled with the tap, one is filled with CD ( why are people against the critical defense? Fill me in on this, I thought the rubber tip was a good thing...? Is it the same as the critical duty that just came out?) and one is filled with the SXT 147 gr. My wife has a G19 with 3 mags, hers are filled with Hydra shock, then SXTs, then some hornady custom (xtp). My xdm 3.8 45acp is filled with the 230 gr tap+p, both mags.
I do want some of the hst though.
