Too cheap or not too cheap? That is the ?

I went to a course today and the instructor was cover ammo. They mentioned the varying prices or different calibers. The instructor said the average price for 9x19 target ammo was 12 or 13 dollars for a box of 50 rounds. I mentioned that I get my target ammo from WallyWorld (walmart). I told em I only pay about 12 bucks for a box of 100 rounds. They told me that the ammo winchester sells to walmart is of lower quality. I am not going to argue with experience. However, I will request the opinions of other seasoned shooters.

Bottom line_________

Is walmart's ammo cheaper because its... well cheaper?

Thanks in advance.

Walmart sells ammo cheaper because they buy millions of dollars worth of it in inventory at a time. A little nickle 'n dime gun store can't afford to put those kinds of contracts to work, thus you pay more.

Either way though, $12 for 50 rounds of 9mm is just rediculous.

+1 on the new instructor.

WWB is a little more 'dirty' than other brands that I've shot but you can not beat the price. All of my XD's eat WWB like candy and I won't be switching brands anytime soon (as long as the price is right).
