What is Different about Hornady ZMax?

Besides the color of the tip, what's the difference between Hornady's new Zombie Max and the rest of their red tipped ammo such as their SST or any other red tipped ammo?

Pretty sure it's just the color of the tip.

Oh yeah, it is more than just the tip, they cost more. don't get me wrong, I sear by Hornady's critical defense and their SST ammo. I just don't get that a respectible company such as Hornady is marketing a gimmick.

Yeah...their Critical Defense handgun line is pretty much a gimmick, too...

Hornady just admitted it when the put it in Z-Max boxes.

ETA--I'm kinda wondering if they think their "Critical Duty" line is going to eclipse CDefense and the Z-max is just their way of getting rid of the underperforming line (assuming, of course, that CDuty lives up to their hype...).

It's just fun, I'm tempted to lay in a few boxes myself just to set on the shelf.

Just because they have some ammo that got fun packaging and went on a lark to bring some humor to shooting and the whole zombie thing doesn't mean they any less respectable.

MY 2 cents anyway.

PS Have to agree with cuda that the critical defense has had mixed reviews performance wise.

peace

I enjoyed seeing a reputable company having a little fun with the zombie craze. I bought a couple boxes just to have.
