What is Different about Hornady ZMax?

I'm pretty sure that for pistol rounds ZMax is the same as critical defense. As for the rifle rounds, ZMax is the same as the SST's, but different than the AMax or VMax.

The ZMax sucks in pistols, but the SST's have provent to be devestating on game animals, so you could expect the same out of the ZMax rifle rounds.

Okay, I get what he's saying now.

7.62x39: ZMax = SST
.223: ZMax = VMax
.308: ZMax = AMax

Is that right?

Also, if you're reloading for rifles, you can usually get the ZMax for cheaper in 500 ct bulk packs.

FWIW, in .45ACP I noticed the ZMax is 185 grain and the CD is 230 [IIRC]. ZMax was also $24.99 vs. $34.99 for CD. Gander Mountain pricing anyways.
