i am loooking for a low grain 9mm hollow point self defense round for CC. i want a round that has good expansion but is not going to over pentrate and hurt some one behind the threat. any one have a round in mind that can do this?

I'm sure I'll read it soon, along with a link to preferred defensive ammo, but go heavy ... 124 or 147gr.

Trash the FTX round and carry the XTP loaded TAP rounds

Ok...so...looking on the Hornady site, the 9mm is the XTP, as it does not have the ballistic tip of the FTX, and the .223 might be the FTX as it does have the ballistic tip...HELP...I'm confused now as to which is truly better. Should I just shoot the hell out of one or the other, to just use em? Or should I just be pleased with what I got and use em when needed?

Any Hornady ammo labeled TAP will be good ammo. For pistols stay away from the critical defense FTX rounds.

I carry Remington Golden Saber 147gr. I like a round that carries a lot of energy and will inpart that energy into a bag of human waste.

9mm round and energy dump have no meaning. 9mm does not wound via energy dump.

Lightweight for caliber and designed to UNDERpenetrate. Never a good thing.
Critical Defense is the perfect round for folks who believe a catchy advertisement will sell them the best ammo.
