NEW Sellier & Bellot Non-Toxic ammo uses a totally enclosed FMJ bullet with lead- and mercury-free priming. 20 boxes per case. Temporarily Out of Stock 124gr FMJ Olympic Case (1000 rds) $114.95 Made in Greece a Olympic Ammunition, a company with experience building ammo to NATO specs. Great stuff for your 9x19 NATO guns. Boxer-primed, reloadable brass w/ copper jacketed bullets. 20 boxes per case. 124gr FMJ Winchester Case (500 rds) $74.99 On Sale! Winchester USA9MM load. 10 boxes per case. Great for shooting steel where you need that extra weight to get the plates to fall. All prices/info from http://www.the-armory.com/ Any input or other suggestions are welcomed. I want to buy bulk to save myself multiple trips to Wal-Mart. Anyone have any thoughts on some of these brands of ammo for the XD series? Good or bad experiences. I know all guns are different, and will perform differently on various brands. Just curious. Thanks!!

I personally avoid S&B ammo, as that is the only brand that my XDs have chocked on. OS

Shipping charges would also need to be factored into the equation for price comparisons.
One comment regarding the 124gr FMJ Olympic - these are somewhat notorious for having hard primers. I bought five boxes of these a little more than a year ago. While I did not have any functional issues with my XD9 Service, they did not have reliable ignition in my Hi-Power. |

I've shot 2200 rounds of S&B 124 grain in my XDS9mm without a single failure of any kind, I pay $123/1000 from Sportsman's Guide. The 124 grain is much more accurate than the 115 gr in my gun, go figure.

What is funny is, all of my XD test cases are S&B. Not sure why, but everytime I buy S&B, my XD-9 Tactical burps on them.

S&B is made in Czech Republic, so that makes sense.
It's wierd how some guns puke on ammo that runs perfectly in others and visa versa. I don't get it. |

From what I understand, each and every XD that IM makes is unique, and therefore will have the slightest differences in tolerance and dimensions. Which means the same exact brand/grain/type of ammo my gun likes may not be liked by another gun. It's the way of the gun world.
That's why everyone will tell newbies (when they ask "which ammo should I use for my gun") to try different brands/grains/etc in their guns and see what works best. Each and every gun is different, and will perform differently for different ammo.
