How's the Pro 1000?
I'm going to get a reloader and wonder if anybody's had experience with the Lee Pro 1000? I checked and you can reload pistol and rifle cases. So, is it any good?
Oh, BTW, I'm on a limited budget, so don't go suggesting Dillon or Hornady's Lock'N'Load.

You'll hate me for saying this....but save up and get at least a Dillon SDB. You can find them ready to go used for a reasonable price.
I started with Lee's Pro 1000 and the cheaper model... Worst money i've ever spent....Seriously.

I hated it. I bought a LoadMaster and like it, go figure. I also have a 550 which I like.

Any body want a loadmaster, i have one i'd sell.????????
Bought the loadmaster after the pro, thought i'd upgrade....I could never get the thing to load 100 rounds without some sort of hiccup. It puked before a major match in early 05, and i bought a dillon....The thing left me without ammo and i had to use factory ammo....

Limited budget... Yep me too. If you already have a single stage press the Lee Pro will work ok if you presize and prime your own cases. I use mine this way. I size (on a Rock chucker) and prime the cases with a Lee hand prime then I use the Lee Pro for 1st stage bell and powder, 2nd seating bullet, 3rd FCD. The priming system on the Lee pro just doesn't work. (at least for alot of people)
If you are new to loading and don't have a single stage press at all then I would start there first and work up from there. The single stage is much slower but will still get the job done. I don't own a Dillion yet but I probably will get one one of these days.

I use a pro loader I too am on a limited budget but hope to save up for a dillon. The priming is what cuases the most problems. I use a few tricks like making sure the primer auto feeder doesn't get low and holding the case up against the shell holder at the priming station with my index finger. This helps get the priming to work better and keeps me doing about 150 -200 rounds an hour.
