That's my point. The Lee data says max OAL for 115gr LRN or plated RN is 1.100"?????? Not only is that wrong, but not helpful. SAAMI max isn't even helpful as OAL is gun & bullet specific. The Lee book makes a good door stop, but about it.

Rainer bullets say not to go above 1500fps, most handgun rounds do not exceed that any way. Started using Rainer bullets so far so good, good practice ammo.

500 for $50 is not bad.

For that price, you can shoot real jacketed bullets. Try Precision Delta or MontanaGold. You have to buy in bulk, but it's not like they go bad.

More questions Looked them up, what is IFP and CMJ? Going to try them out, thanks for the leads. Do you also recommend Starline for brass.

The MG have 357sig bullets at reasonable price

Have a XD-45 service, are semi-wadcuttrers a possibility or is it going to be jacketed bullets only. While I'm on the subject what are some or your favorite loads.

Inquiring minds want to know.

The abbrev are on their website @ the top. Both are FMJ, the CMJ has an enclosed base. For best price form MG, order a case. Yes their 357sig bullet is very good.
I doubt you'll get a LSWC to run 100% in the XD. I could get them to go about 80% after smoe tinkering, but that isn't good enough for anything but plinking. A RN or RNFP or TCFP will work 100%.
My fav loads for the 45acp? Anything over WST, seriously, anything. It shoots that good, which is not common. SOme powders favor jacketed, some lead & some plated, some higher vel/pressures, some lower. WST will run w/ all bullet styles & wts to std vell & pressures in the 45acp.

Listen to the man about WST...it really is that good. I tried it and won't use anything else now in .45. I have to use up a lot of other powders before I use it exclusively in 9mm, though.

When I bought bullets 1 box Rainer and 2 boxes of Hornady XTP 124gr and 115gr. Just to see which the gun liked. The Rainers were to practice with and get good form, been around guns all my life but mostly rifles, handguns are a challenge for me. I going to get some Montana golds on next purchase.

The Ranier is an ok bullet but cost wise, the MG is cheaper & is a true jacketed bullet. In the several calibers I have tried them in, I always get really good accuracy with them.
