Ah...the Manager has all the keys, too. Get him over there and make him explain why he can't sell ammo after certain hours. Make him show you the WRITTEN policy. Verbal is useless.

I haven't tried to buy ammo late at night here in Spartanburg - might be an interesting test.

BTW, Wal-Mart Corporate is gun-friendly and usually will abide by local gun laws.

So I finally got a chance to stop by the Super Walmart. Good news and bad news. Good news is, I talked to the guy there and he also said that ammo can be purchased anytime as long as someone is there with a key to open the case. Now the bad news...Looked up and down, left and right, front and back of the ammo case. i see tons of 9mm, tons of .40SW, .22s, shotgun shells, but where were the .45s??!?!?!!? I saw the empty shelf and price tag for them (32.97/100 rnds).What the deuce?! Asked the guy where they keep their .45s. Then my heart dropped when he said "Sorry, I don't know why but they no longer sell them." WHY!?!?!?!?! WHY?!?!??!?! He wasn't sure if its everywhere but the store @ King of Prussia stopped not too long ago. Ugh, time to visit a different Walmart in the boonies to see if they have any. Walmarts in the city don't sell ammo.

Boy thats a small ammo case. The one I go to is three of those in a row. Still not a lot of 45 but usually 3 out of 5 trips its there.

I am in the burbs right outside of Philadelphia. I'm thinking they don't stock up on ammo because its near the city limits??? Perhaps I need to venture out a bit further away from the city??? I was so excited too when I saw that they actually had ammo but my excitement was quickly crushed when the 45s weren't there =( Tons of .40

My local Walmart always has the ammo locked up. I went in last week to get some ammo for my 9mm and it took about 45 minutes. There is hardly no one in SG ever so it took awhile to get someone back there to unlock the case. I usually buy Federal Champion $10.47 for a box of 50. The cheapest I have seen is Tula $9.47/50. But thats in 9mm caliber. And one of the workers in SG didn't know what snap caps were. I asked if they sold any and he was like, "Whats that?" I got the hint from that question they didn't sell any.

Just happen to stop by my 24 hour walmart again last night and guess what?! They actually had .45 ammo this time!!!! Lula 230gr 50 pack for $21.xx. Nice to see them still carrying some 45s but too bad I still get the remington UMCs at my range for about 19 bucks.
