I always believed case seperation from the projectile was a favorable thing......
True story here now folks... I worked part time behind a gun counter for 3.5 years. Some guy mad as heck came in one day FURIOUS that only half the bullet was shooting out the gun when he fired it. He told us half the bullet would come out when he worked the bolt. It was a 7mm Rem mag. Three of us looked at the guy confused, very confused. He was bright enough to see our confusion. He then pulled from his pocket the other half of the bullets......
He showed us the fired, empty cases. We all broke out in some good laughter.
Some other guy bought a Glock 22. He brought it back the next day asking us how to load the magazine. He could not figure out why the 22lr rimfire rounds he had would not load.......
I know what you meant, I think you just typed it the wrong way lol....
Anyway it reminded me of some fun times sellin' guns to some real 'experts'. Couldn't tell you how many complaints from defective scopes I got from people that mounted them backwards. One guy even missed 3 deer before he brought the rifle and mounted scope in.......
Oh and FWIW. If a jacket seperates, guess what. The core keeps penetrating. The jacket does not contain fairy dust that allows it to penetrate deeper just because it is still on the lead core. Like I said earlier. Other than a bonded jacket, just about all hollowpoints will shed a jacket whan fired into nothing but water.......
