I like Walmart retard cashiers, they are good to me
Ok, this is getting rediculous, I went to walmart out of my town today and walked up to the counter with 2 50rnd boxes of federal 45 and 1 box of 50rnd federal 9mm.
The cashier seemed to scan all three boxes and then said to me "that will be 19.67"
I held a straight face and handed over a twenty, took my change and said, "have a nice day"
This is the third time at this walmart. My reciept shows 3 boxes at regular price totaled at 43.91
I like walmart retards

really dude? you could have used more class in your thread. Using retard as an insult hasn't been cool since junior high. Maybe the honest thing would have been to correct them on the mistake. Just my .02

Holy Crap!!! How much is the 45 at your WM? Here it's $15.97
I had a similar thing happen to me this weekend. They rang up my items and he said the total was thirty-two something, then I looked at the screen and it was thirty-five something. I think they're forgetting to hit total or something for the final value.
On a side note, has anyone noticed WalMart has quit asking "did you find everything ok?" I think it's because they know they're always out of crap or they keep moving it so you can never find it. Rather than listening to the customer they just quit asking. I'm going to ask the cashier next time I'm there.
Also, has anyone else noticed they always seem to put the oldest, slowest, most computer illiterate and problem prone people in the EXPRESS LANES?! That pisses me off to no end.

If you knowingly ripped them off because of an employees mistake - that is stealing. I agree with the above. You should have corrected them and paid for what you owed.

It's their mistake, their supervisor should be correcting them.
It's not our job to correct them while they try to do their job.
I would have done the same; not my fault.
Plus it's WALMART

Two things about this though:
1) That cashier could possibly lose their job over a simple mistake. When they count the drawer and it's off by $30+ dollars it will be bad. Plus if that happens a couple times, really bad.
By the same token, the cashier would have had to of entered more than the total for it to work or the register would not have printed the receipt. Something should've clicked in the cashiers head, but maybe not.
2) ladromar, this is for your train of thought as well. You think WalMart will just absorb the cost and forget about it? No. They'll pass it on to us. I'm not saying they're going to pass on $30 of loss, but $30 here, $10 there, couple hundred for every shopping cart they lose, multiply that by the number of stores the loss is happening at and you bet your butt they're going to pass it on to the consumer.

This. Legally you can be charged with petit larceny for knowingly not paying for something. In most cases, it's hard to prove, but posting this in a public domain is probably not the best idea for your own sake.

Maybe he'd be worried if he ended up with a free car or something, but I really don't think a serious investigation is going to take place here.
