Update on my Wolf Primer issue
As week or so ago I was having problems with my wolf pprimers requiring a double strike to set them off. Well I went back and made some of the reccomended adjustments and I think the problems are fixed. I went back and swapped the seating pin and it seemed to fix the problem. Went back and reseated the primers and felt a few that had not seated. Hopefully this week I'll be able to test a few and see how they do.
Thanks for your help, guys.

Cool, good for you.
So you just replaced the seating punch? With the same part, just a new one? Do you think that's what made the difference?
What other adjustments did you make?
Thanks for posting the follow-up!

Well the press came with 2 different sized seating punches. I was looking at what I thought was the "spare" seating punch and noticed it was significantly smaller than the one on the press so I swapped it out. The part that slides the primer into place comes in two different sizes as well. Once again I put the smaller one in and now it seats like a dream (assuming testing goes well). Sometimes it would seat so smoothly that I would take the brass out to check and see if I had actually put a primer in it.
The adjustments also cleared up the occassional primer jams I was having. The odd thing is I was not having any problems with my .40 when I eas using the larger punch. Go figure.

And risk damaging my press? Hell no! I just used a pair of pliers and a ball peened hammer.

There are 4 sizes of primers, large,small,50 bmg and shotgun.
Sounds like you were using the large primer punch with the small primers!
I am surprised you could prime the cases at all!

Like I said earlier, My xd 40 had no problems at all. My revolver on the other hand did. Glad it is fixed and hopefully this weekend I can test them out.

I tried some of the wolf LR primers today for the first time. Just 50 rounds but NO problems.

Yeah, if you have trouble with Wolf primers it's either your gun or your handloading equipment/technique that's to blame. Their primers have a very solid and earned reputation for reliability.
