Best price challenge (range ammo) for 7.62 X 39 ammo
Let's have a challenge to see who can find the best prices anywhere for 7.62 X 39 ammo! Let's hear from some of you frequent buyers out there. Also would be great to find out best prices on 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 and .223 as well! So far, Wal-Mart is the best I've seen here in SC. All the gunshops are saying that 7.62 X 39 (range ammo) is getting scarce.

Online from Cabellas, sportsmands guide, cheaperthandirt.com, etc. They all have good prices. The prices vary depending on what type of ammo youre looking for, and also, they're frequently on back-order, so you'll probably have to wait for your ammo. I'm currently waiting for 500 rounds of Wolf FMJ in 7.62x39.

The biggest challenge right now for 7.62 x 39 is not the best price, its for who has it in stock. Prices have gone up because supply is short. Somehow I doubt when the supply comes back up that the prices will go down, however

U got that right Brian. Seems to be what I've found as well, though I was hoping that someone else would see this and come up with a better price and supplier. Keep it coming guys. Maybe we could arrange a group buy and create some leverage?

Badmann, I got 500 rounds wolf FMJ 122gr. (I think..?) w/ a FREE dry-box from Cabellas for 49.99 + 7.xx shipping. So, 57 bucks or so shipped. Not a bad price. When I ordered, it said it was in-stock, but by the time I finished the process it said "backordered". Word spreads fast. I looked today and it's back up to their "regular" price of 64.99 per 500. Still not too bad of a price though... I always figured you were paying for the free dry box for 65 bucks.

Thnx for the input Chupa! $129.95 is about the best I'm seeing for 1000 rounds 7.62 X 39 Russian at the moment unless you want to buy the high-dollar stuff. I saw that price on http://www.classicarms.us/ So, bout the same, just no free dry box. Keep the info coming guys! We need better ammo prices!!!

The dry boxes from Cabelas are the **** by the way! I'd pay a few extra bucks just to get some more of those.

I've wondered about the dry boxes. How big are the dimensions wise? Like a mil.surp. 50 cal can? that's sorta what the pic looks like, but plasticy.
