I dont see what your saying, I came to possess the handgun as it was a gift from my dad (retired LEO), therfore it is legal for me to have.

Oregon is an open carry state, in shich the minimum age to open carry is eighteen years old.

I am eighteen years old and therefore can legally open carry. I think the article you are referencing is in reguards to concealed carry.
