Why not? For practice ammo, you can save quite a bit of money shooting cast. You can buy 9mm LRN for about $58/1K delivered. New Page 1
Cast them yourself w/ scrounged or cheap alloy & they are almost free. Some even perform about as well as JHP if you needed them in a SHTF pinch.

Those I cast myself, not many LHP available for the 9mm. They look this good from 1050fps-1250fps. I would count on them if need be. The 9mm can be the most finicky when shooting lead bullets but the 45acp, it's like they were made for it, any platform, even Glocks (but you might want to go conventional rifling). All I feed my XDTAC is 200grLTC or 230grLRN. On good days, it does 2" @ 25yds.
