Sneaky Remington and ****'s
Yesterday the paper had shotgun shells for $3.98 at ****'s. It turns out the shells come in a box of 20 now!!! They only had 7/8 oz. of shot too. I think someone at Remington thought they would change the rounds of trap and skeet to 20. This downsizing went too far. I wonder how many people are going to be upset if they don't catch it at the store.
The post automatically erased the store. It is short for Richard

I`m assuming these are 12 ga? The 7/8 oz. of shot is fine for Skeet and 16 yd. Trap, but the 20 count makes no sense. Unless you buy 5 boxes to give you a 100 count.
Regards, Pete

We were in a local chain sporting good store that also had them on sale. My father picked up a box and i told him it was small. Upon inspection we notice just what you said.
I understand that giving you less product for the same money is a way to adapted to rising price of doing business but changing the count in things that are sold in 25 for a reason is wrong. Mostly done by someone higher up who does shoot or buy rounds to trap with.

I dont know if you were paying attention this summer, but Frito Lay announced that they were putting more (i think 2 oz.) product in their bags as a gesture of kindness. They played this up for a couple weeks and marketed it pretty heavily. What they didn't tell us, was that they cut the same amount out to save money without the consumer paying less.
I understand that businesses are out to make money, but I would sooner pay a little more if they were just honest about it and didnt try to mislead us.

I'm in business. Unfortunatly market research does not support your statement. While you personally may feel this way...most consumers do not.
Even a small price increase in a product that a consumer has bought for a long time can cause them to re-evaluate their purchase habits. So, rather than have consumers switch brands over $.25, they cut the amount included in the package, gambling that consumers will not notice.
And for the most part...they don't. 1/2 gallon ice cream is now 1.75 quarts. Your favorite cereal box has 2-4oz less per package. Kleenex comes less in a box...the list is endless.

Its hardly a recent occurance. I remember buying a fireworks fountain as a kid, thought it was a bit light, so I opened it up, and found a much smaller firework inside, label and all, glued inside the bigger tube.
sometimes getting more than you pay for isn't a good thing either. my cousins "purebred" and papered Pomeranian ended up bigger than my Beagle!

So CMfromIL... we're supposed to get screwed from this, and just take it? My honorably disagree. If a company I do business with feels this is necessary, then I feel it's necessary to rethink doing business.

I understand Market research says most of us wond know the differance if they remove an ounce of something... but if they tried to sell 11 eggs as a dozen it wouldn't fly.
