Where do you shoot your reloads?
I was in the process of purchasing reloading equipment for my XDM .40 and I was wondering where you all shoot your reloads at. The two ranges that i go to don't allow reloads. I want to start shooting IDPA, but it may not be wise to make an investment for reloading equipment if i can't use the ammo.

All the ranges in my area let you shoot anything except armor piercing and tracer rounds.
I suppose they are worried about hot loads.

Is it no reloads or no reloads in their range guns?
I shoot at a beautiful outdoor range with my very own pass key for only $100 a year. It took me 3 full years in line to get in.

Never heard of that except for using range guns. Find another place to shoot.

There's 2 ranges around here that don't let you shoot reloads.
I shoot at Greene County Fish and Game, they have 6 outdoor ranges, a couple of ponds, place for your travel trailer, and hunting land. shoot what you want, just don't shoot glass. I shoot service rifle postal matches there Wednesday nights. It's $80 a year, I'm not a member anymore, my father in law is.
My dad is a member at 2 local clubs Miamisburg gun club where they have an indoor and outdoor ranges, they're $125 a year and they shoot IDPA the third Thursday every month. The other club is next to his work and is $45 a year but they only have pistol ranges.
The ranges around here that don't let you shoot reloads are gun stores first, charge by the hour. If you buy a membership, around $100 a year you still have to pay a cheaper hourly rate for the lanes.
If I were you I'd look around for "clubs". A lot of clubs require stickers you put on your vehicle. See if you can spot them around town on the backs of cars, or more often trucks.

I shoot IDPA and reload 40 S&W for my XD 40. The range may have a problem with lead bullets (lead poisoning and venting problems). If that is the only place you can load jacketed bullets and put them in a factory bullet box. Problem solved.

Most jacketed ammo has a lead core, so unless they are shoting cintered frangible round, the range is just wanting to hose you for their crappy & not so cheap range ammo. Find another place to shoot.
