Reloading .45 ACP for XD .45

We’re reloading .45 ACP for the Springfield XD .45 with 200 GR SWC Copper plated bullets using HP 38 5.6 grain powder and the Springfield XD is having problems feeding the bullets, also when it fires them it will stovepipe on every round.

Has anyone used SWC bullets in their XD .45? Maybe we should make our reloads a little hotter?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

marly

I haven't ran any SWCs thru mine. My brother has some made up and I'll see him on Thurday. Will give them a try a see. My Kimbers refuse them everytime.
May try adjusting the OAL slightly longer.

I've been using 200 grain RNFP cast bullets in my 45s for years and have never had feed problems. This includes the new XD 45ACP which has digested over 200 of them to date. Been using 4.7 grains of Red Dot.

RNFP's have a different geometry than SWC's.

And that's why I reload the RNFP, just about eliminates FTFs.
