Reloading dies care and cleaning

My wife's uncle gave me a lyman turret press, a lee 1000pro press and 4 sets of dies and other bits and pieces to reload some pistol round with. Some of the dies are showing some surface rust( probably due to handling during setup by previous owner)
1. How is the best way to get the dies clean?

2. What is the best way to take care of dies?

3. How about the presses?

I also have about 500 9mm rnds that need to be pulled and recharged. Any comments on pullers?

I have dies that are rarely used and have some surface rust on them. As long as the rust isnt inside the die, it wont affect it. Oil will render a primer useless faster than water so if you decide to spray them down with oil, degrease them before you start using them.

If oil is a bad thing, then what is case lube made of and will it spread like oil and affect the primers?

if they are carbide dies you wont need lube. if they are not carbide dies go ahead and buy some, Lee dies are great quality, and resonably priced. Today Lee dies are about the same price as 15 years ago! I just priced them out for a buddy tonight. Lube on the primers will kill them, be careful. You can always use the kinetic bullet puller, but I'd rather be shooting!
I just cleaned some Lee 9mm dies that had been sitting for years, but they had no rust. Used an old toothbrush and Hopps #9. Worked great, cleaned all the gunk out.
I used Hopps#9 on the press as well, little on an old rag works great. Xray

I used ed's red cleaner to clean up all the dies. I got a collet style puller and it is easy, no mess, better than the wack-a-mole hammer ( might last 50 rnds- might last 5rnds!) Thanks for the tips.

Clean them up w/ CLP, or Hoppes or RemOil or something like that. Wipe them down. Simple as that.

I use Hornady One Shot lube -- it's (as far as I can tell), a canned polymer based lube suspended in a quick drying non-petroleum propellant. Spray a quick shot on your cases, roll them a bit, let them dry, and bam, a lubed case that doesn't have to be cleaned off (but you can if you want to).

It wont hurt powder or primers (I suppose you could, but you'd have to try hard to, like by spraying it directly on the powder or primers).
