Go buy a .45 acp borebrush, yank your barrel out, use your cleaning rod with "CLP" on the bore brush. Push the bore brush in to the chamber and spin it clockwise while pulling the brush in and out. Let the clp set in the chamber for awhile then repeat the steps again. When your done grab a .40 cal bore brush and rap a cleaning patch around the brush push it in the chamber, spin it clockwise a few times. You may have to do this several times but it will cure the problem most likely.
DO NOT put oil in the chamber while firing rounds. An oiled chamber will make the problem worse.
When the case expands against chamber walls that have been oiled it creates a vacuum slowing the inertia of the slide and can cause extraction issues.

For the best results make sure that the chamber is completely dry after you clean it. No oil at all. I've seen this problem countless times with M16s and M9s as well as their civilian counterparts.

Good luck

If you use a bronze bore brush your not going to hurt the bore. Stay away from nylon and stainless bore brushes. They are bad juju.
Bronze is a lot softer than barrel steel and won't cause any problems. In the armory we even use dental picks on the chambers to clean the forcing cone step on the M9 barrels.

I just recently started using a bore brush.

I'll clean the barrel again before I go to the range to make sure everything is perfect. I'll also make sure the chamber is dry.

Hopefully that will fix it. I don't know if I'll get a chance to go to the range this weekend.

I'll update as soon as I have some new info.

no more jams! Went to the range this weekend and got about 100+ rounds through without a hitch and damn fine groups.

So it doesn't looks like its ammo related.

The failure to extract a jammed round in the chamber IS ammo related.

Sometimes, for whatever reason, a round will have a bulge in the case (usually caused by the bullet base). This bulge will wedge the round into the chamber and will sometimes require heroic measures to remove.

I have seen it happen with commercial reloads as well as my own. I fixed the problem with my own reloads by buying a Lee factory crimp die, which sizes down the entire case as the last step of the process.

I can't believe it. I just sent an e-mail off to Wolf. It jammed on me again this weekend on about round 11. Luckily this time I had a cleaning rod along so I was able to unjam it. I cleaned it again. although I didn't have my bronze brush to be 100% sure the chamber was clean. Although with some creative quetipping and my bore snake I think I got it at least 98%. Ran several dry patches through to be sure. Loaded it up and it had a light jam on round two. So frustrating not to have faith in your ammo.

Anyway Wolf has a 100% satisfaction deal so we'll see how they handle this.

beardman2,

OHHHH If that's the case then I can understand. Then I'd look into the magazines.

beardman2,

Try a different brand and see what happens. Anykind of brass ammo will tell the tail. If it doesn't ajm on ammo made from brass then you know it has to be the Wolf ammo. Again I never had any problem with Wolf ammo especially the newer Polymer stuff.

I'll have to pop for some WWB next time I go shooting and see what happens. I did get through an entire range session before this with no jams so I wouldn't think its the mags.

It is extemly frustrating to not have faith in your firearm though!
