Need help picking out a good reloading setup

So, I'm looking for a really nice setup, one that I could churn out lots of reloads(2k a month or more), will be reliable, easy to use(never reloaded in my life), has a good warranty/customer service, and will produce good quality reloads.

I'm looking at the dillan 650 and the hornady LnL-Ap. The hornady seems to have pretty much everything the dillan does at a less expensive price.

I'd want a auto feeder, powder measure (on the hornady to make switching between calibers easier).

Also a good tumbler and media seperator.

This is all a while off, but I like to plan ahead and do a good bit of research. I currently own only one handgun, a 9mm, but plan on acquiring a 40 cal subcompact and a xd 45 ACP before getting this setup.

Dillon has a lifetime warranty on the 650. Fully set up will run you about a grand. Takes 20 minutes max to change between calibers. You buy conversion setups through dillon. When changing from 9mm or 40 to 45, you need to change the priming system.

If a part breaks, you call them and they ship it to you free....good customer service.

If you are loading 2K a month and may change calibers occasionally i'd get the 550, it now has a case feeder if you want. The 650 is a little more complex and better for really high volumes.

+1 for the 650. The Girlfriend with Two Ring got me one for christmas and I love it. Dillon's service has been very good also.

Ive got a 550 and have had great success with it. I can crank out 1000 rounds a month very comfortably and have done 2000 a month with ease as well. Last weekend I loaded up 700 rounds without effort.

Ok, so everyone is for the dillan over the hornady. If I were to get the 550 or 650, what accessories should I get? The case feeder with plates for 9mm, 40 and 45 cal, dies/conversion kits for the listed calibers, and what else? Also are the dillan tumblers and media seperators of good quality as are there presses?

www.brianenos.com

sells dillon equipment and has a wonderful FAQ and trouble shooting section.

or www.dillonprecision.com

I bought both my Dillons from Brian and spoke to him personally on several occasions, he was more than happy to help me out getting things started.

dillon

Anther one for the dliion. I would buy the 650 ( I do own a 650 ), buy the one to grow into not out of. I can reload 800-1000 an hour with great results. I also just got a rf100 how did I load so long without this device. And yes on the dillon tumblers also, there great too.

I have the square deal, and love it. I load about 200 44mag, and 3k of 40s&w a month.

Its alot cheaper, and just as good. I couldn't justify the price of the 550 for what I wanted.

I have a 550. The machine is flawless.

I also have a LEE1000. The machine is great, however I have not tuned it yet. Anyone with a LEE1000 have suggestions on making the primer feed 100%?

How about suggestions on a less expensive model? I just need something for the 45acp, (and maybe the 9mm) capable of maybe 300-500 a month.

I figure 300 rounds of 45 at cabella's runs 74.00 plus tax. that adds up too quickly to a whole lotta coin, so I was also looking for a set-up, just less expensive.

any suggestions?
