Aluminium squib rod?

Does anyone know if aluminium will hurt the inside of my barrel if I use it to remove stuck bullets. Most of the ones I see are brass or nylon. I have some 5/16" T5 aluminum rod but I don't want to mess up my barrel. I want something to keep in my range bag just in case.

Just grab a wooden dowl pin that fits the barrel... you don't have to worry about being too rough with it or anything, even if you break it its what, 1.00 to replace...

Anything softer than the bbl. steel; aluminum, brass even mild steel if it's smaller in diameter will work. I find wood flexes too much in smaller bore diameters.

You don't become a better shooter unless you can shoot more & you don't shoot more unlesss you can do it for less.

I've seen a lot of aluminum rods being used, they smooth and polish the cut end so it doesn't dig into the rifling, seems to work great.

I just use a wooden dowel, the key is to have it about 1 or 1 1/2 inch longer than the barrel chamber not included. That way the wood won't splinter or flex.

Don't shoot squib loads!
Make sure you have good ammo and keep a wooden dowel that just fits inside the barrel and is a couple of inches longer.
