The Wal-Mart by my college has a 4 box limit on all ammo, and it's hit or miss usually. While I am home for Easter I hit up the Wal-Mart near my parents house. They had 18 boxes of 50rd Federal 9mm at $9.55 a box and no limit on the number of boxes you can buy. I bought 12 and the young lady working the counter looked very confused/uneasy when I told her how many I wanted

Just bought some ammo from WalMart today. I was told that they don't impose the 6 box limit anymore.
I bought 8 boxes of .308 ammo as follows;
4 boxes of Winchester Super-X 150 gr Power Point for $17.97 /pack of 20
4 boxes of Federal Power-Shok 150 gr soft point for $13.97/pack of 20
I will mostly use the Federal for target practice and intend to buy a lot more of it later. Come to think of it...I should have bought all Federal since it is cheaper and based on the ballistic report, it actually performed better!

I called/went to 6 different walmarts over the weekend,NO .45.Call me a cheapskate,but i refuse to spend more money on target ammo than i have to.My local gun shop has same WWB for DOUBLE the price.Ridicules.I guess next time ill just have to stock up.Does anyone know why,besides greed a gun store would charge more?

Picked up 3 boxes of WWB .380 FMJ while vacationing in Knoxville, TN over the Easter weekend. We stopped at maybe 6 places between Detroit area and Knoxville..(Wal-Mart, Meijer)...this was the only one that had any.
So -
3 boxes WWB FMJ 380 @ $17.97 a box + tax

I went to walmart downriver...Picked up 6 boxes of fed 40...

Was looking for 9mm JHP also - didn't see any! Did see some 9mm FMJ, but I have about 2000 rounds of that...so I'm good for now.
Didn't see any .380 HP either...

I think they go buy it from walmart and sell it for a bunch more. Double the price is insane though. I could see if they wanted to make 10-15% but double is really crappy of them.

Exact same here... I hate the response on when you ask about when they will get their next shipment. "Well... we don't get ammunition on a regular basis..."
NO SH!T! That's why 3/4 of the cabinet is empty!

I frequent 3 stores in the Cleveland area about 4 times a week. Sometimes I get lucky. I have received the same response "We get it in when we get it in"...no really?
