Opinions on this AK?
I'm a complete and total newb when it comes to AKs, but after reading the forums here and drooling over all the amazing pics, I need one.
I found this Polish Tantel on the Classic Arms, Inc. site for $489.95. Anyone have experience with this style and caliber? ![]() Also, how easy is it to change the stock on these?

Im pretty sure the rear trunion on those would have to be replaced as well. If your looking to "accesorize" an AK i would suggest getting a bone stock WASR. They make side folders for full stock rear trunions but you cant put a full stock on a side folder rear trunion.
AIMsurplus has those as well.

Tantals have standard receiver and switching stocks to fixed is easy. I just did it with my Interarms Tantal. If I were you, I'd fork out extra $120 for interarms tantal with chrome lined barrel and better fit. Also if you buy Interarms, you have an option of getting a fixed stock tantal (black polymer furniture).

I prefer a fixed stock. They're easier to shoot and more accurate IMO.
