Where to buy "ban-compliant" AK's
Okay.....I've thought about buying an AK for quite some time now. The problem is I'm not in a free state, and my choices are limited. It seems that all I ever see around here are 300 dollar WASR's. Does anyone know where I might find a NYS ban-compliant AK47 in 7.62x39? I'd like something in the 500-700 dollar range. My preference would be an online dealer that would transfer through an FFL. Any ideas? Thanks

Look into a Saiga in 7.62. GilbertsGuns, a board sponsor sells them. I "think" they are NYS compliant. They are an AK, but in hunting/sporting config. They take magazines and if you don't want 7.62x39, get one in .223 or .308

Actually, they do have them here.....minus the bayonet lug and muzzle device of course. WASR's are about the only AK's I've seen up here.

That is exactly what I have. It's just not as evil as some of the others.

I live in CT where we have an assault weapons ban, and I have a Saiga, converted to comply. Depending on your specific state laws, you could most likely do the same. Otherwise, an unconverted Saiga would do it I think.
CT even bans "AK types" but according to them an AK fires 7.62 x 39, so my S308 is not an AK type" per the ban. |
