Converting a single stack to a double?
I was looking at a really nice AK at my local sporting goods shop and it turns out it's only a single stack. I was originally going to do a Saiga covernsion, but I was wondering how hard it would be to convert a single to a double stack. Any thoughts?

Cut out the mag well. Use a Chinese or Bulgarian mag as a template and trace it out. Cut it with a dremel tool or similar. Take a little at a time and check fit the mag as you get close. You may also have to trim the top of the mag catch if the mag will not latch in. The hardest part is getting all the metal shavings out. You will also need to get all the 922r compliance parts too, you wanna be legal, and its only required on double stack guns...I always make mine compliant..

Thank you sir! I gotta say, I'm really grateful for the responses on this website. After wading through the crap and BS on ar15.com and other sites, I'm happy that everyone on this website seems to be good people.
