Spotted: Bullpup AK at the range
Hi Guys,
First-time poster in the AK forum. I'm just chiming in to state that there was a guy at the gun club recently who was shooting a bullpup AK. The shape caught my eye, but I couldn't immediately identify what it was. He had purchased it a month or so ago, and said it was put together by Centrury Arms. He didn't say what it cost, and I didn't ask. He said it was sort of a mish-mash of different AK parts; A Yugo-something here, a Chinese-something there, etc. I handled the weapon , but did not shoot it. The bullpup handles pretty quick; quick to swing, quick to shoulder. The shorter fore end would take me a little getting used to. The pistol grip seemed pretty meaty and robust. The gun also had had a shorter sight radius, and the sight line was higher above the bore than on your standard AK variety, though I'm not sure why. Cheek weld, maybe? I didn't talk with the owner very much. He stated the gun has only been out for about 6 months. He expressed that he was very pleased with the weapon, and stated he was able to get it to group well at 70 yards (?). Anyways, it was pretty cool. I just thought I'd share.

Perhaps this was a kit that Century Arms put together, but it was purchased new as a bullpup. It wasn't a conversion done by the owner.
So maybe this is a bullpup stock that has been out there for years, and Century Arms is just now assembling it and selling it as a complete rifle? I dunno... I'm not much of an AK guy. Linky: Product Detail Page Sorry, it's Century International Arms. My bad.

Correct, it appears that the kit has been out there for a while and that Century is now selling them pre-assembled.
The weekly/monthly flyer i get from J&G has them as well....not sure of the price right off.

Bingo...very few Chinese bull pups made in to the country. K-VAR and SKSman sold the conversion kits. Now Century sells the complete rifle.

A different AK bullpup
I'm sure you're referring to a different AK than the Norinco 86S I own.
Likely you mean this: YouTube - AK-47 Bullpup To see a my Norinco 86S in action, via night vision, click on this bad boy: YouTube - Suppressed Norinco Bullpup AK Night Vision Shootin' Enjoy, Frank |
