Recommendations on red dot scopes?

I bought a side-rail picatinny mount for a red dot scope, but the one i got isn't zeroing in like it should. does anyone have recommendations on which red dot scope to get? i kno POSP is supposed to be the best, but since i already have the sidemount i'd like to make that work.

Do you want magnification? What's your budget?

From what I hear, the ultimak mount with an AimPoint Micro T-1 is pretty BA. That's what I'm going to go with when I get my AK in.

big question, which mount do you have?? that will determine a lot as not all mounts are the same and not all mounts fit the same rail and not all AKs have the same rail....this is really evident on the WaSRs from Century. you must also ensure that the mount is lock completely in place-just because the throw lever engages doesn't mean its locked. There is also some (not much) adjustment in the mount itself.

Here two basic mounts below...the latch set up is the main difference and is the important detail when choosing one for your rifle.

This will work (not too good) on an AK rail. Its made for the SVD/SKS/Mosin

this is an AK mount....

These are the mount I commonly use now regardless of which optics I choose...

this exact one

MidwayUSA - Leapers 3rd Generation Picatinny-Style Double Rail Mount AK-47 Matte

used a rubber mallet and hammer to get it on snug, and though it had no play i proceeded to tighten down the 3 screws along the bottom to secure it in place. Of course, I have since removed it because the red dot i had didn't seem to be accurate. Re-attachment will most likely prove easier, and will require more securement with the screws.

thanks einheit

fine, guess my "old stuff" isn't good enough for you

I'm really leaning toward an Eotech for mine. I'll see what I can find out about me getting a new one, and let you know.

We REALLY need to get out and go shooting though

Get a Kobra. I really like mine. choice of reticles and they are Russian bombproof. The make one to fit weaver bases as well as ones with the mount built in.
