I saw this for sale locally and wanted to get your opinions of the price for this and anyquestions I might need to ask the seller. Below is the text of the ad and the picture:

"Romanian WASR AK with Romanian wire folding stock. Less than 100 rounds down the pipe. Included are two mags and a bayonet. $425 FTF "

I would call myself a Newb to AKs but since I don't own one and have not yet fired one I don't even qualify for that title.

This is a 7.62x39. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

my dad bought me one from j and G sales, a WASR-3 for less than that. and it was never fired brand new.

Buy it. With the FTF you are saving on taxes and fees. Most only come with one mag and no bayonet. From what I've seen the prices of these are going up fast and that one looks to be in nice shape. I paid $400 for my fixed stock GP WASR 10/63 with 8 mags, leather sling, and cleaning kit. I thought that was a pretty good deal.

Offer him unless you can find a new one for the same price, buy it.

i was priced a wasr 10 for 425 at a local store, with 2 mags, and questionable accessories. I mean, just for reference.

IIRC SOG still has the folding stock for $349 dealer cost with 1 mag and no bayonet in their last flyer. You need to add shipping and dealer transfer fee to that of course. Plus a few bucks for the bayonet and extra mag.

You are pushing pretty close to $400 maybe a little over for a new one.

I've noticed the prices of all AKs going up over the past few months. A standard WASR-10 would usually run $350-375 but is now $450-499. So that's not a bad deal, but it never hurts to try and make it an even better one!
