Today I went to the gun store and saw an AK47. It is a Romanian, Century model GP 1975. They are asking $539 for it!!? Does that sound right?

When I asked him why that much, he told me because it has US made barrel and synthetic stock.

What do you guys think? Good, bad?

Also the receiver is US made and it had the letter "G" on the other side.

Too much for a Romanian IMO. You should get a Yugo for that price.

Yeah, it seems a little much, especially because it appears that there's rust on the barrel, though that might just be the lighting.

I paid $400 for my GP WASR 10/63, still in the box w/ Leather sling, accesories kit, 8 (eight) magazines, and Tapco trigger.

Yeah, that one is over priced.

Like someone else said, If you are going to spend that kind of money get a Yugo.

Get use to climbing prices...if you can find one cheaper, get it. The barrel isn't US made, just the receiver (very few of these guns received new barrels) and the 1975 gives you polymer furniture. Most US barrels aren't chrome lined (which means absolutely nothing) and a new US barrels only runs $75 or so....but thats way too much for that gun.

you can get this cheaper with shipping and FFL fees (unless he rapes you)
