if you are talking about cosmoline, which it sounds like, kerosene has always worked well for me, that or breakfree and a bit more elbow power

Brake cleaner and/or soap and water to remove the cosmo...and the bayonet is supposed to be dull, they carried field knives for cutting, bayonets were for cutting wire and making the rifle into a pike.

dawn dish soap, stiff brush and water in a bucket is the best way ive found to remove cosmoline and it leaves your rifles smelling like fresh mountain air!

My ak docter says to take three 75 round romanian drums and shoot till it burns it off, There is nothing like hearing Cosmoline boiling and seeing it smoking after you Bump fire 75 rounds then you can continue till your ready for a hot bath. all previously mentioned methods work fine but hell why not actaully get it dirty first that cosmo will only protect it until she really needs a bath. LoL These guns are meant to be ugly and ready for WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take apart the mag. I had to push from the inside to pop out the sides a bit. Once that was done, all the rounds fit.

Hope this helps.
