if its local that wouldnt be a bad price out the door, iirc most of the ones ive seen on the net run 475+ so you gotta factor in xfer fee, call in fee and shipping into the 475 sale price.
it really depends on what they are selling for in your area. you could search gun broker, or shotgun news for a yugo if you really wanted one though!

Research
I have been doing a lot of research also. I was in the same pickle you are.
I finally settled on a Romainian GP/WASR-10 (GP's take double stack mags and have a little more attention to detail than the plain old WASR-10's) Yugos 1. More heavy duty due to thicker receiver and some other parts. 2. Better fit and finish. 3. Poorly shaped stock recoil can hurt jaw or cheek (not built to shoot with a cheek weld) 4. More expensive 5. No chrome lined bore 6. Goes bang everytime you pull the trigger Romanians 1. Lighter Weight for extended shooting and carry 2. Chrome lined bore to fight off corrosion 3. More ergonomic stock for a better cheek weld 4. Not as good in the fit and finish department 5. Much cheaper 6. Goes bang everytime you pull the trigger With the money you save on the Romanian you can buy a tapco trigger system, mags and ammo and come out ahead. Anyway those are the trade offs I discovered.

I did research, made phone calls.
In vegas, i can walk into a store and buy a Romanian with a solid stock for $545 or a Yugo (backordered) for $699. I found a nice Romanian on the web, but once tax, shipping and xfer fees are added, its a wash for me. I am on the list for a yugo at my local gun shop, but it may be a few months until one comes in (they are scarce). So if August comes around and i am AK-less, i will go with a romanian, or maybe 2!

Solution: Get a Romanian now and a Yugo later.

Make sure you get one.....period! An AK is an AK, yes some are fit/finished better than others but they are all no nonsense, no frills weapons (and a blast to shoot!).
Mine is a Romanian GP-WASR 10 high cap with a canted front sight post, and is as accurate as you can shoot. The finish is a little rough but it functions flawlessly and I did refinish the wood and added a Russian Kobra open collimator sight and standard AKM muzzle brake. Get one while you can! Mike

My AK Rom SAR-1 has an awesome finish and is a great shooter. Got some serious trigger slap after a few hundred rounds but its accurate. Here is an older pic about 2 years ago next to the EBR's.

I'll probably go with the Rom for expediency. i still need to dish out cash for my carry permit, more XD mags, ammo and a case for my 91/30.
i found a crate of 7.62x54Rs on classic arms for $80 - a steal for that cartridge. i am going to order it next week.
