My lastest addition the PAR-3 Pump Action AK! *Range report on page 2*
Well I got mine today at Big-5 here in So. Nevada.
Seems just a few stores have the PAR-3 (.223) and a few others have the PAR-1 (7.62x39) in stock. I was having a time deciding which caliber to get, but I found the .223 version to be the most interesting. I've had enough experience with 7.62x39 AKs and SKSs anyways. Mine came with 4 Ten round mags, cleaning rod that doesn't fit on the rifle, a greasy buttstock cleaner thing and a green web sling. The action is pretty smooth and like a shotgun you have to give it a pump to work the action, but unlike a shotgun where you have to pull the fore-end forward the AK spring action assists in closing the bolt. There isn't any guide rails like a shotgun and the forward slide handle is ingeniously attached to the disabled gas piston/guide rod. The rear sight is not in the traditional area, but is welded further back on the action cover. Rear sight could drift adjust for windage and the front like a AK/SKS adjusts for elevation and windage. Side scope mount is present if the shooter wants to use a telescopic sight. The normal charging handle on the bolt has been milled off too. Trigger is stagey, but feels like I can live with it. Over pretty decent fit and finish, typical of the Romanian AKs. The rifle has that exotic look that I am attracted too and reminds me of a modern day Planet of the Apes Rifle. I would have tried it out today, but its just too dang windy! Dusty, Dirty, Blah! Anyone on the west coast should check one of these out at your local Big-5. It's a weird one and although it was made to by-pass the assault weapons ban, it's a unique rifle that I had to have. $259! plus tax wasn't too hard of a hit on the gun budget and since it's a pump, it slows your shooting down a bit to save on precious ammo. I hope to try it out as soon as my local dust storm subsides. I have a feeling it's gonna be a fun shooter! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is the Big-5 ad Big 5 Sporting Goods - Weekly Ad Specials

Well at first I'm like WTF! But for 260 bucks it would be a fun shooter that would slow down your ammo consumption if you are one of those that like to go blow though ammo without thought to your pocket book.
My only grip just from looking at i besides the 10 round mags is why does the pump handle need to be so far out there. That's a reach.

kinda useless in my eyes as its commiefornia compliant, it would make a nice novelty firearm though.
wonder how hard it would be to turn it into a semi auto? lol barrel change?

I have a PAR-2 set aside for 'possible collector value', never been opened. I have a PAR 1 that I converted back to a traditional AK ala RK62 clone (you can tell its more AK than RK)
EDIT:Hey Hepcat-mine look like ACR's on GBs

I have to admit, never seen a pump AK before.
I use to live in California-moved to Indiana, kind of glad I did. No restrictions- However it looks interesting thats for sure. I hope she treats you well... DOG

I can't imagine pumping anything that isn't a 12 gauge and.... well, let's just leave it at that.

I think its cool very different. Interested on whether accuracy is increased because of the pump or not.
