A year from now..

Will I be able to get an AK47 a year from now (minus a potential AWB)? If so, do you think they will be drastically higher in price?

I ask because I want to get one before that time but to be honest, I don't want to spend the money on one, ha. Would rather get it now while the price is "low" than 4-8 years from now (if an AWB prohibits them).

Also, if an AK has a fixed wooden stock, can that be replaced with a folding one?

Appreciate and help.

Thanks in advance

I see ALOT of guns getting banned/limited(raised prices to where almost no one will buy them) in the next couple years. Pretty much any assault rifle, 50 cal rifles, 410 handguns.....all the fun stuff lol.

As to the question about the stocks, yes you can put one on. But I believe there is a slight difference in the stocks for stamped receivers and machined receivers.

The anti-gunners are just chomping at the bit to get a Democrat in the White House trust me. Why do you think we haven't heard much from the typical anti-gun types with all the shootings that have been in the news. Ask yourself, why no cry's for another AWB or more gun control out of the usual suspects like Brady? I will tell you why, because they have learned a hard lesson not to bring up gun control in an election year. It didn't work out for them so well the last time they did and will not make that mistake again.

They are biding their time, keeping low and keeping their collective mouths shut. They have a very good chance of getting the White House in 08 and at the same time, keep control of Congress. After they are safely in, the anti gunners in Congress will send forward one new gun control bill after another, to include a new AWB that will make the last one look tame. The Democrat in the White house, whoever it is, will be only too happy to sign it. Its coming boys and girls, its just flying below the radar this time.

Bottom line, get that AK or AR now, don't put it off. Buy all the high capacity magazines you can afford. It would also be prudent to buy high wear spare parts for your black rifle or AK so you can keep in running just in case you can't, or don't want to take it someplace, to get it repaired. Like last time, high capacity magazines will be the first to go and those in the pipeline will cost an arm and a leg. Last time I saw $16 Glock magazines go to $160 over night.

Maybe I am being paranoid but I don't think so. I have seen this movie before and didn't like how it ended. If it doesn't happen, if you buy now it will most certainly be cheaper than waiting for a couple of years. If the worst happens, you would have what you want, and may even need. Just my .02 cents for what its worth.

HA! China would love to sell you a Type-56 with a bakelite side folding stock and a spike bayonet for $299.95. They've been banned from import, so they sell you computer hardware instead.

It's supply and demand and there are lots of them out there - I don't see them drying up anytime soon - but.....anything can happen I guess.

I don't see bans on guns coming around, except maybe on .50 BMGs....too many bans are getting stopped already, they're now going after ammo and reloading.
