building an AK...which trigger assy?

You may have seen from my other thread on receivers that I'm working on a Romanian AK. I've seen these "compliance kits" and other trigger kits. I'm guessing a compliance kit has a minimum number of US made parts???

Anyway, do you have any recommendations for trigger kits and their respective source?

Thanks.

By the way, I found this kit from the same place that I bought the romanian parts kit...but I have no idea whether it's good or bad or even what it looks like

Just go ahead with a Tapco G2, you can find them at AK Builder, Copes, Centerfire and Tapco...they're about $29

People on here may say "get the Red Star one" but I see no reason to spend over double the $ for it.
I do have Arsenal groups installed as well but every single one I got took some filling to get to work. I'd rather just have a plug-n-play version, aka tapco g2.

Depending on the receiver you use with the G2 you might have some work to do. IIRC, the sear and hammer don't play nicely together without some work. Maybe the Nodak economy receiver, but I really don't remember.

Just make sure if you get a double hook trigger, your receiver is cut for a double hook trigger...

G2 is the cheapest way to go. If you use a NoDak 'econo' receiver, follow their recommendations on which G2 to use. As far as the Powers Custom/Red Star, if you wantadjustability in reset, travel and take up-its a good choice for a 'custom' trigger.

You can always Dremel/File out a receiver if you happen to get the double hook on accident, it's really no big deal.
