I haven't had good luck with older steel magazines. I switched to the Bulgarian Polymer and they ahve functioned 100% they're only like $15-$16 each, tough as nails, and dark black to match the rifle
Don't get those confused with ProMag polymer mags, ProMag sucks donkey balls in the AK. Must be made in Bulgaria.

Everything I use is 30 rounds steel or poly (i.e. blugy waffel as well as the bullet mags). For not much more or the same price just get 30 rounders from copes.

I'm familiar with the 30 rd mags, but I have been looking for 20 rd mags and these were the ones I found. I don't like the length of the 30 rd mags and 10 rd mags don't hold enough.

American mags typically suck. if you decide on 20rd mags, get the original, the Hungarian mags.

Centerfire systems has the Hungarian 20 rounders, these are the only mags we use in our SKS Model M.
