For a little over 400 bucks, this looks like a heck of a deal. I might forget saving more ...

For a little over 400 bucks, this looks like a heck of a deal. I might forget saving more for an AR and get one of these, if they're better than the other cheap AK variants.
Anybody own one? Good quality? No mag wobble, canted sights or trigger slap? Will it take regular AK mags?
I am VERY interested in these heavy duty AK variants...they look very well made.

They're great guns, I don't like how Century has put them together, finish wise. They feel kind of 'cheap' to me. Other than Yugo specific furniture, thats my only gripes. As far as heavy duty, a Chicom has a thicker receiver, thicker barrel...the Yugo just has an RPK style font trunion...you want heavy duty...Vz58....awesome gun, just wish they were cheaper....but then again, all AKs are heavy duty..

I have a Yugo M70AB2 underfolder. It was put together by century arms. I love it. Great rifle. My room mate has a Romanian Wasr. Both great guns but I wouldnt hesitate to buy another if needed.

Underfolders are not the easiest on the shoulder after a ton of rounds.

Yeah, I fail to see the alure of the underfolder. Having shot several long guns with folding stocks and no stocks...they're hard to control folded up and hard on the shoulder and unnatural angles when extended.
I just thought for a tad over 400 bucks, these looked better than the Romo AKs with their poor finish, wobbly mags, canted front sights and trigger slap.
Sure, I'd love a Chinese AK...but they're getting into AR price ranges and beyond. For 400 bucks....this looks like a good choice.

the folders are for tankers, carrying in tight spaces like tanks, apc, you know. i am like you and have no desire for a folder. if i bought another AK i would be willing to spend more than the 325 i did on my maadi, but i feel like i got a good deal on that thing. i need to buy more mags though........

Folders are for airborne/paratroops in the Soviet/Combloc Army. The 'tank' guns were only made by Hungry-the short barreled AMD-65.

The only two negatives about the Yugo underfolders is the fact that the furniture, gas tubes and a couple other parts are different than "regular" AK's, and the fact that the receiver is thicker (making the gun heavier). I own two of them, and haven't had the slightest problem.
