Well, I just got it so it's hard to say. Plenty of folks have been using them on 7.62's and on shotguns, so I think it'll handle the recoil just fine. I'm more curious to see how it handle the heat as the gas tube can get pretty hot.

Thanks guys. I'm a long time AR guy but this is my first AK. 
I'll get her out to the range this weekend.
It's a Tapco mag. AIM threw in a couple when I bought it. I'd like to buy 6 or 8 more mags this spring and I'm trying to decide what I want to get. I'll probably get a couple more of the polymer and pick up a handful of decent quality metal mags.
