Just came back from some prairie dog huntin' not too long ago.

Didn't shoot at anything further out than about 100m, made some kills with the irons. It's accurate when you give it some effort.

Well I guess I shall play, here is my BWK-92 in .223 I have had her for since Aug 05. I saw her in a pawnshop and fell in love with the Green and how the previous owner had customised the grip and foreend.

Since you have both styles, i'll ask this..With the Ultimak tube on like on the first ak in your pic, is it possible to put the galil forend (2nd pic) on ? So you'll have a galil forend with ultimak gastube rail? Or are the attachment screws in the way? I know mine gets VERY hot and any extra covering over the ultimak while still having accessible rails would be nice.

Using this item with Ultimak Gas Tube:
This item can be modified to be used in conjunction with the Ultimak AK Gas Tube. Due to clearance issues, approximately 1 inch of each side of the handguard should be cut then filed smooth. This will allow room for the Ultimak's rail to accept optics. Will not fit the Maadi 21" Barrel.

Now if I could just find some wood galil style handguards that will fit on a g code so I can continue work on my frankenstein ak

Yeah, but you'd have to carve off the top bit of the hand guard in order to fit your optics on there.

Also: the Galil style foregrip doesn't really protect any better from the heat.

Check AIM Surplus. They have PG converted Saiga's for $549. You can't beat that for having it done. AIM New Rifles! New Rifles!
