I like it. Where did the little angled adapter for the stock come from? Is that a custom piece, or did it come with the stock?

i have not ever seen any adapter for the vepr to convert to folder, if that is a vepr for sure, please share where you bought the folding mech, and adapter to fit the rear of the receiver.

It definitely looks like a VEPR. Look at the slant on the receiver. I'm curious too.

It is a VEPR. The folding stock and Magpul ACS stock were how it left the factory.

Question. Who makes a good receiver cover with a rail on it? I purchased the cheek riser and how I would like to get a nice red dot mounted on there.

AK reciever rail for scope

the best top rail system is made by Texas weapons Systems. Google it and check it out.

Thanks! That is the one that my local shop actually has in stock...I think that is what brand it was.

Did I say that this thing is a dream to shoot?

I have taken it apart a few times and really learned a lot about this thing. I did cheat a little bit and got the AK 74 version. While I would have rather gone the 47 route, the ammo is cheaper ($300 for 1500 non corrosive) and the ballistics are intriguing especially as I read more online. The 5.45 seems to be a rather interesting bullet and has some pretty sweet nicknames. My favorite is the "poison bullet". I also appreciate its effectiveness for home defense. The other reason for choosing the 74 is the 47 was out of stock and would take awhile to get. It would have looked exactly the same.

What are your thoughts on the caliber?
