choate dragonov stock for mak 90

hey guys I was wondering if anybody can verify whether it is for a straight cut receiver or a slant cut receiver. There website does not list which one it is for. all they list is milled or stamped receiver (mine is a stamped straight cut like most Aks and like many Mak 90s but norinco also made mak 90s with slant cut.) The stock was specifically made for the Mak 90 (this is important because the mak 90 is a little different than many ak variants mainly bc the reciever is 1.5mm instead of 1 mm like most aks that is why I am questioning whether it is for slant cut or straight cut.

My MAK 90 Norinco came with the Choate stock. My gun is straight cut. Choate probably made the stocks in both configurations. The good thing is that the Dragunov stock is considered a thumbhole and is made in the USA there are no 922r compliance issues.http://ultimak.com/CHOS-B.htm

Are You sure about the 922r compliance? And no where does it list if it is for straight cut or slant cut. So I guess im just gonna buy it and see. How do you like your stock?

Well, as for compliance, the dragunov stocks were put on the MAK 90s that were imported by some of the importers to make them compliant with the Clinton Assault weapons ban. Since it was technically a thumb hole stock it was not considered an evil assault weapon. They also ground off the bayonet lug. So, I didn't put the one on my MAK ,the importer did. I assume that being a thumb hole replacing a thumb hole it would be compliant. Especially since mine came with the Choate stock. The assault weapons laws are so convoluted and weird they make my head spin. Anyway , the Choate was pre wooden thumb hole if I understand correctly. As for your other question, the look of it is growing on me. I like the way it fits both in length of pull and cheek weld. It doesn't look "military AK" to me , but I like the way it fits me. I have tried the wooden thumb hole guns and ,as you stated, they are not made for lefties. The Choate is fine left or right. As I said, my MAK is straight cut. Maybe you could contact whomever you are getting it from to find out more. From the looks of it ,it may fit either one. Good luck! Did you look at the link I attached? It implies no compliance issues as well. Here is another link that explains some more .http://www.mouseguns.com/mak90web/mak90.htm

Thanks, After further review of the 922r compliance it seems that it is legal to change it out with another thumb whole stock because I would not be changing the gun into something that would have been illegal to import. It would not have been a big deal if I had to play the 922r game because All I would have to have changed after I got the stock and handguard would be just to use American made mags (As long as I was only using American made mags my Mak 90 would have only 10 imported parts that is listed out with the whole 922r thing) I just ordered a Choate stock cant wait to get it!! By the way what ammo do you use? I assume the mak will feed the cheap stuff (wolf or tula) without a problem.

I shoot a ton of the FMJ Tulammo from Wal Mart. I did get a few hard primers in one batch , but otherwise they shot well. For "better" ammo I shoot Brown, Gold or Silver Bear hollowpoints. I like it a bit better than the Tulammo/wolf. I have had zero failures to feed or eject ANY ammo I have tried. The MAK seems to be accurate and very reliable. I am very pleased with it. I have also used a variety of Mags with the MAK. Bulgarian , Romanian, Hungarian and of course Chinese. The Romanians are a bit loose side to side but function flawlessly. Every other mag including Tapco are perfect as well.
