I have a wasr and my friends all have a wasr. they run good and are as accurate as any. I have fired theirs and they have fired mine and they are all pretty good. I had issues with mine when I first got it but CAI took good care of me. I would buy again without a second thought about it.

there is a lot of internet buzz about canted sights and wobbly mag wells. I am not so sure that still hold as true as it used to. mine was straight as could be and solid built I did my homework and inspected carefully. I didn't check head space though.

if I had it to do over I would soak the bolt in solvent and be sure its clean and moving freely and be certain of head space before I fired a new AK of any type. (really its something you should do with all new weapons. trust but verify) the head space issue is something they should have taken care of before it left. me getting hurt for not checking the head space or cleaning the bolt well enough is a mistake I'll do my best to avoid from now on.

Another +1 for CAI WASR-10

OK shooter (it's a .30 cal AK, don't expect much!), stock Irons were straight as was the gas block. I really want to change out the irons though for something more M4 styled. i really hate notch leaf and post sights, especially so close together like the AK has. I just can't shoot them. thankfully there are aftermarket solutions!

I was torn between an AR and an AK...... found lots of good info here, (am sure you will find the same)..... and was directed to Classic Arms. http://www.classicfirearms.co/

They've go some pretty good pricing and reports on them seem to be pretty good.

FYI - My final choice was for an AR.... but that isn't relevant to your question.
