Ak 47 30 round mags
Hey guys. I'm looking into some more mags for my yugo. I'm looking for some plastic ones to cut down on weight. Are there any really good ones out there that some of you may have had experience with or should I just stick with the original steel mags? Will it save me that much more in weight going with a tapco, us palm, or Kvar

some guys will rag on tapco mags but I never have any issues with them. I have a small pile of them and love them. I dont really abuse mine though so ya know... my standards are pretty low. "if they run, they are good enough"

The Bulgarian waffle mags are pretty solid. Russian Bakelite mags are nice, but will set you back a pretty penny. The Polish poly slabside mags with the reinforced feedlips are also pretty good (and reasonably prices).
Stay away from Palm mags.

Why do you say stay away from palm. Not arguing because I know nothing about the different mags. But I've heard pretty good things reading reviews. Have you had some bad experiences?

I looked up Russian bakelite. DANG either I'm looking at the wrong thing or those suckers are way out of my price range. 68 dollars for ONE!!! Probably a nice mag though

The ones I'm aware are the Arsenal 30 round mags. I have one of the black mags and it reads Circle 10 on the side. My research lead me to believe the Circle 10 mags are the best. I only bought one, though, just to compare against the cheap, steel ones.
Mag AK-47 7.62x39mm Russian 30-Round Polymer Black
For me, being that you can get new, military surplus, steel mags for $20 versus $30-$35 for the polymer, I go for the less expensive steel. They lock up really nice and tight in my Arsenal AK and are really well built. I won't be trying any drop tests, though.

By the way, with regard to the Arsenal 30 round polymer mags, here's a video. There's a chart at the end.
