Crazy huh?
The funny thing is over on another forum I'm on, people will talk crap about any polymer mags and then go spend all that money on bakelites. Bakelite stuff is brittle. In the electrical world they make cheap switch boxes out of bakelite and they are commonly referred to as shatter boxes. Half of the ones you buy in bulk are already in pieces.

Nope
I like to keep some European steel mags around, but I use my circle 10's the most.

Just my opinion, but to save weight on 30 round mags I prefer 20 round mags.

Palm makes a decent mag now, true. But from my experience (ok, ok, it was from watching my friend who got me into Kalashnikovs) palm had some serious QC issues up until fairly recently; mainly with feedlips cracking or the baseplates not being secure (the first was the problem I experienced) I'm willing to bet that a lot of the cheap Palm mags are from this older stock as they went for around $30 new.
... still, they're the only ones that will be domestically producing the quad stack magazines, which look pretty cool

Yeah I checked the quad stack out. A lil... Well way over my price range. Neat thought though. I'm sure they will find a market for it. It's a piss in the face to nancy pelosi and her desire to ban all double stacked mags. "it's not a double stack nancy... It's quad!"

The steels are sturdier than the aluminum mags too, but millions of steels and polys have been made, Bakelite and aluminum are more scarce. Kinda like the early plumb poly mags. They couldn't get black poly to stand any type of abuse till years later. The plumb was as close as they could get to black.
And depending on the date of the bakelite mags, not are are as brittle as the early ones. Same with the early M16 stocks. I have a 2 bring back Mausers with bakelites stocks that are tougher than anything bakelite i have come across.

Thanks guys. I think all being said I'll stick with steel. Inexpensive and built to stand abuse. And I abuse the heck out of stuff. Train hard right!
