front hand guard for IO AK 47

I have an Inter Ordnance AK 47 and the existing front handguard is becoming wobbly. It never really was that comfortable to use anyway because it has a bottom rail. Originally I was looking for a nice light blonde hand guard set but I am wondering if I should not rather be looking for something with a more effective heat dissipation and or metal heat shield? Any ideas?

I recently bought and fired a AMD65 and was quite impressed with how effective the metal shroud around the front part gets rid of heat build up.

Take a look at this site:
FOREARMS HAND GUARDS

or this site:
Saiga 7.62x39 : Mississippi Auto Arms, Inc ::, Your Source for Saiga, AK47, AR15, Tromix, Glock, and SKS firearms and accessories

Good luck and let usknow what you opted for. I'm too looking for HG for my s308.

I've got K-Var poly furniture on mine (with internal heat shield), and it's been great. To address the wobble, you might want to replace the forward handguard spring at the same time, and make sure the flange around the retainer is formed properly.

You need another AMD lower?? I have no grips or screws/blocks but I have lowers. I also have a Saiga tube so you can make it AMDish.

I had considered that set, I like the fact that it has a heat shield. I just snatched up a 75 round drum on a sale and I think this would come in handy!

But for the looks I would just love to have blonde wood.

That might work! I was going to ask if I won't run into issues with 922r but then I realized that my IO AK wasn't imported, lol...

All AKs will have imported parts - bolt, carrier, gas blocks, front sight, trunnions. Just make sure u know which ones. I would expect IO would have at least the trigger assembly, muzzle brake as 922r parts. If both receiver and barrel are US made you're good to go.
