Whats wrong with my ak???

Let me start off by saying it's a rommy g I got from classic arms 3-4 years ago. I have somewhere around 800-1000 rounds through it. The last time i took it out I had some problems... One being that I had 3-5 rounds our of 150 ish rounds that didn't fire due to what looked like light primer strikes. I chalked it up to bad ammo and tried not to think about it. I got around to cleaning it sometime after cleaning and when reassembling it after cleaning I noticed when dry firing the trigger wouldn't reset. It required the slightest bit of forward pressure on the trigger to reset. Well, I finally got around to shooting it again today and the trigger didn't always reset, prolly 4 times out of 100 rounds. I am hoping that you can help me figure out the problem/solution... Thanks for any advice...

Make sure your hammer spring is correctly installed (the hooks need to be riding on the trigger arms).

sounds like a bad hammer spring.

A weak hammer spring would fail to reset the trigger and fail to deliver heavy strikes.

Could it be some sort of "timing" issue?

how far did you take it apart to clean it? did you just do a basic field strip or did you take your FCG out? Is your disconnector spring installed correctly? Also is it possible your trigger is catching on the receiver?

What type of receiver is it built on?

Its a Tapco G2 trigger group and Nodak NDS-3 receiver. I did a basic field strip, and as far as I can tell the trigger isn't catching on anything... It seems the hammer is hanging up on the "trigger hook" (rear hook) when I push the trigger forward it pops up pash the first hook to sit where it should be (forward hook)...

is your hammer spring installed backwards? Also did you remove the FCG and hammer when you cleaned it?

I don't think so... I've never done anything more than a field strip to it.
